Eligibility criteria:

  1. At least 70 percent or above marks in F.Sc./A-level (Pre-Medical)
  2. At least 60 percent or above marks in SSC/Matric (O level)
  3. All Pakistani/AJK nationals, aged between eighteen to twenty years as on closing dates of application are eligible to apply for this scholarship
  4. Final selection of candidates is totally based on an open Merit system

Benefits of the scholarship:

Government of Cuba will bear the following expenses of selected candidates:
  1. Full Tuition fee
  2. Hostel accommodation allowance
  3. Monthly Stipend (one hundred Cuban Pesos per month)

Expenses borne by candidate himself include:
  1. Trip air-tickets
  2. Buying of Halal food
  3. Medical insurance (disease or other causes)
  4. Visa fee 

This scholarship is offered by Government of Cuba; therefore, no extra financial responsibility will be borne by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan in any case.

How to Apply:

Online Application:
  1. Candidates have to apply online for this scholarship
  2. Visit the official website of HEC. Link is given below.
  3. Fill and register your profile.
  4. After filling and registering your profile, select the "Learning Opportunities Abroad" under "Scholarship and Grant" menu in left side panel of the online portal.
  5. Submit your application there.
  6. After the submission of application, save a copy of that online application too.

For Shortlisting Candidates:

The soft copies of following documents are needed from the short listed candidates:
  1. Copy of HEC application form submitted through online application portal (duly signed)
  2. SSC Certificate/DMC/Degree with IBCC attestation OR O-Level Certificate (Science Group) with IBCC equivalence.
  3. F.Sc. Certificate/DMC/Degree with IBCC attestation OR A-Level Certificate (Pre-Medical) with IBCC equivalence.
  4. Birth Certificate issued by NADRA
  5. Copy of father or guardian's CNIC
  6. No Criminal record certificate (Original)
  7. Photocopy of valid passport (validity more than six months)
  8. Original Medical Certificate with report of HIV/AIDS issued by Medical Superintendent of District Head Quarter Government Hospital and further attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

All the above-mentioned documents are required only in case if you are from one of the shortlisted candidates. Shortlisted candidates are contacted or informed via email. There is no need to send any hardcopy to HEC until proclaimed. All the documents should be sent via email.

Provisional Selection:

The selected candidates must provide the following documents with the Spanish translation of all the documents. The required documents provided by candidate must be attested by the relevant authority and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

  1. SSC/O-Level (with IBCC equivalence) Marks Sheet & Degree should be duly verified by concerned board and attested by IBCC & Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  2. Certified translation of SSC/O-Level Marks Sheet & Degree in Spanish language attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  3. HSSC/A-Level (with IBCC equivalence) Marks Sheet & Degree duly verified by concerned board and attested by IBCC & Ministry ofForeign Affairs
  4. Certified translation of HSSC/A-Level Marks Sheet & degree in Spanish language attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  5. Copy of Passport (Original)
  6. Ten Photographs of size 1 x 1 attested from Back Side
  7. Health Certificate along with medical reports of HIV/AIDS (Issued and stamped by Medical Superintendent of Government Hospital & attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
  8. Certified translation of Health Certificate & HIV reports in Spanish language attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  9. Original Police Verification with certified Spanish language translation attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  10. Computerized CNIC of the candidate
  11. NADRA Birth Certificate with certified Spanish language translation, both attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Important note:

Incomplete applications or the applications without above mentioned documents will not be entertained. After successfully completing the undergraduate degree program in Medicine from university of Cuba the applicants are bound to appear in NEB Examination. Candidates are required to fulfill all the needs of foreign graduates to register themselves with PMDC, Islamabad.
Applicants are also responsible to get their accreditation status confirmation from the concerned council i.e. Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) to apply for this professional degree.


Last date to apply online at HEC e-portal is on or before July 24, 2020.
